Wow. Wow. Wow. Who else cannot believe what is going on in our world right now? It feels so surreal, doesn’t it?.
Here in Australia we are not in total lock down yet but the mood is sombre and people are feeling uneasy. Most Aussies are in self-isolation and have taken themselves out of society for a while to either avoid getting sick or to help limit the spread.
The other side of this pandemic is the panic buying. Toilet paper has become as valuable as gold with pasta and rice being hoarded along with tinned tomatoes, baked beans, 2-minute noodles, soft drink, mince and plenty more grocery items.
What is this need to hoard so much food?
With so many countries in lock-down now people will need to have food available to them because they cannot get out to the supermarkets. Most supermarkets are open around the world but may have limited trading hours. Still this has not stopped people from buying more than they need.
How much do we need?
I can tell you it is less than you think.
In 2020 peoples attitudes towards food has changed drastically over the last 100 years. 100 years ago there were very few places to buy groceries and certainly no fast food restaurants to fill the hunger at 3am.
There seems to be a constant hunger in all of us these days and with food available 24/7 that hunger can be tamed the moment it becomes a thought. With many places offering delivery there is no need to leave your house anymore which does not help with reversing the decision to have a burger and fries at 11pm because you are still awake, cannot sleep and you are a little but hungry (and most probably feeling emotions you don’t want to feel and thinking about things which you have been thinking about for years).
Food not only helps with the hunger but it fills a void. That void may be loneliness, a lack of love or disconnection from yourself. And, because you have used food as a way of suppressing your real emotions it is now a mindless habit; and you cannot hear that loving voice inside of you which is gently trying to help you to stop eating your feelings and to feel them as they should be felt.
So, now that all of this madness is on your doorstep and you have no choice but to isolate, the thought of going without all the food you love, or even any food; for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 weeks (however long) this is completely scary to you. Your body is going into panic mode and you are causing yourself stress thinking about not being able to eat how you normally would for an extended period of time.
What if, instead of trying to eat ALL the food, you took this as a loving opportunity to release your hold on food and to release those feelings pent up inside you?
It’s not going to be easy but it is going to be worth it. Because you will come out the other side a beautiful version of yourself who makes assertive decisions about what she puts into her body and about how she treats her body by listening to her thoughts and changing them where necessary.
I am going to give you 5 awesome power moves you can implement into your day from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep. You will feel a whole range of emotions but that is good. It’s time to feel who you are and to release all of those shitty feelings that keep you stuck in the past and prevent you from living RIGHT NOW!

- Power move 4: Your body does not need to eat as much as you think it does. So, how much do you really need?
- Power move 5: Keep moving. Don’t stay still for too long
All the answers you ever need for yourself are locked away inside of you. Only you have the special and unique key which fits into your special and unique lock. It’s not always easy to know where that key is kept but I can tell you that key is most certainly within you. Your mind is that key but, unfortunately, you have forgotten how to access it. These power moves are going to guide you to your key and give you the power to use your key again and unlock the greatness you are keeping locked away inside of you.
You have allowed food to keep you prisoner in your own mind and body because you couldn’t find any way out. You used food to jimmy the lock but it never budged. Food will no longer be the counterfeit key stuck in your lock pretending to open you up.
It’s time to search within yourself for your key. The only key you need to release yourself once and for all.
